what we grow + raise

orchard

There are several mature apple and pear trees producing for over 60 years which to our delight are perfect for making hard cider! We have added over 150 trees to our orchard including several varieties of apple, pear, plum, peach, and nectarine..

veggies and herbs

We grow over 70 varieties of certified organic vegetables and herbs including lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers, scallions, bok choy, escarole, summer squash, winter squash, sweet corn, broccoli, peppers, eggplant, carrots, beets, radish, kale, garlic, basil, parsley, mint, thyme, sage, rosemary and cilantro.

berries

Andrew recalls picking blueberries to add to his breakfast cereal in the early 1970s. Those blueberry bushes were barely visible under a thick blanket of poison ivy, stinging nettle and multi-flora roses in 2017. They have since been revitalized and are once again very productive. We have added an array of certified organic strawberries, blackberries, raspberries, gooseberries, currants, mulberries, and elderberries to the collection.

grape vines

Similar to the blueberries, the concord grape vines were no longer visible in 2017. We spent several seasons of aggressive de-weeding and pruning to uncover and enjoy a successful grape harvest. We learned quickly that our chickens love grapes too. Watching our little “grape jumpers” provided lots of entertainment.

flowers

Our perennials include certified organic peonies, daffodils, rhododendron, lilacs, iris and hydrangea. We are adding other thrillers and fillers to our floral repertoire. Keep posted on our flower subscriptions coming soon.

maple syrup

In 1876, one hundred maple trees were planted on our road that year by Andrew’s ancestors to honor the nation’s centennial. 100 taps run from those trees and their progeny on both sides of our Scenic Road and we sell our certified organic heritage maple syrup.

italian honeybees

Our hardworking Italian honeybees traveled from Georgia to our farm in April 2021. Our hives, Mark Matthew, Luke and John, will be expanded annually and we look forward to our fall honey extractions.

chickies!

We had no idea how obsessed we would become over our chickens! Raising our flock from day old chicks has been one of the most joyful experiences of farm life. They keep us endlessly entertained with their individual personalities and character and we sell their multi colored free range eggs.
